Every Sunday we serve a proper homemade roast made fresh, using locally sourced ingredients, the way a Sunday lunch is supposed to be. No shortcuts, no chain pub shortcuts, just honest cooking from a kitchen that takes it seriously.

Our Sunday roast isn’t a frozen meal reheated and dressed up. Everything is prepared fresh in our kitchen on Main Road, using ingredients sourced from local suppliers wherever possible. That matters to us it means the food on your plate supports local producers, and it tastes better for it.
The roast changes to reflect what’s in season and what’s good that week, but you can always count on generous portions, proper homemade gravy, crispy roast potatoes, and the kind of food that actually fills you up.
A proper pub setting, not a restaurant trying to be one
There’s a difference between eating a Sunday roast in a restaurant and eating one in a real pub. At The Gedling Inn, you get the latter a characterful, independent local with a central bar, a dedicated dining area, and an atmosphere that feels relaxed rather than formal.

Sunday lunch is a family occasion, and we’ve made sure The Gedling Inn works for everyone at the table iincluding the youngest ones who aren’t quite convinced by roast parsnips yet.
Alongside our Sunday roast menu, we offer a dedicated children’s menu, and our famous design your own pizza keeps even the fussiest young diners happy. The beer garden is ideal on a sunny Sunday afternoon, and children are always welcome. Dogs too, your four-legged family members are more than welcome inside and out.

A Sunday roast deserves a proper drink. We keep a well-stocked bar with real ales on hand pump including Castle Rock Harvest Pale, a brilliant local session pale ale from one of Nottingham’s best-known breweries alongside a full range of draught beers, wines, soft drinks, and Costa Coffee for those keeping it sensible.
Book ahead, Sundays fill up fast
We won’t pretend our Sunday roast is a secret. Tables fill up quickly, particularly from noon onwards, and we’d hate for you to miss out. Booking ahead is strongly recommended a quick call or an online reservation takes two minutes and guarantees your table.
